DeRoyal announces the signature of an exclusive worldwide supply agreement with MENODYS of Longueuil, Quebec, Canada for the international commercialization of MENODYS’s LT10G reusable Magnetic Surgical Mat in over 70 countries.

DeRoyal announces the signature of an exclusive worldwide supply agreement with MENODYS of Longueuil, Quebec, Canada for the international commercialization of MENODYS’s LT10G reusable Magnetic Surgical Mat in over 70 countries. The LT10G, MENODYS’s first developed medical technology, is a patent pending magnetic surgical mat offering added protection for patients wearing an electronic implant and having a surgical procedure. The LT10G Surgical Magnetic Mat is shielded such that it produces no magnetic interference at its undersurface. The name “LT10G” stands for “Less Than 10 Gauss”. Surgical magnetic mats are commonly used in operating rooms to minimize hand transfer of surgical instruments to help reduce the risks of sharps-related injuries.

David Watermeier, Director of International Marketing for DeRoyal stated, “DeRoyal has marketed and sold disposable magnetic instrument pads for over 25 years. In light of the publication of several studies and the US FDA reporting of adverse events related to electromagnetic interference this provides the market with a product that is safer to use on patient populations with pacemakers and other electronic implants. Furthermore, a reusable mat will prove to be more economical in many markets outside the US where disposable products are not customary.”
