What it IS:

Our sales residency program has proven to be a win-win for us! We hire quality individuals that come to learn and immediately make a difference. Once their residency is complete, they go on to their successful role within the company – usually in the medical device sales field.


One of the many beneficial aspects of this program is the exposure to a diverse variety of tasks and learning opportunities. Through product training programs and hands on experience, residents will learn our products and services. A candidate would rotate through various departments to build knowledge of sales operations and assist with various company projects. They also gain professional selling skills by traveling with DeRoyal sales representatives, as well as, through in-house training. During these travels, one can learn the intricate knowledge of how a hospital, surgical center, DME and many other medical environments, operate. The opportunity to in-service alongside sales reps, marketing and interact with customers, will develop one's knowledge, as well as, gain professional growth. Also, while traveling in the field to assist our sales team, it’s also a great opportunity to check out the local sights in the area and see what each city has to offer.

What it is NOT:

It is not an internship. It is not a job doing grunt work and mindless tasks.

What it can BECOME:

The main goal of the residency program is to coach, prepare and refine residents into a successful sales area manager that will move into a territory of their own and manage its customers. However, the healthcare landscape is ever-changing and DeRoyal will adapt to meet our customers’ needs. The beauty of this market's dynamic is that in some cases it creates a need for a marketing or product specialist position and an alternate opportunity for a candidate.

What YOU should do:

To qualify, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree (minimum cumulative GPA 2.5) and a willingness to travel & relocate. Certainly, a professional attitude, appearance and enthusiasm to sell medical supplies helps a lot. Excellent communication skills, ability to take initiative and adapt to working in various work environments is a must here, and really anywhere one would work.


DeRoyal offers a base salary plus a housing stipend during the training period, relocation assistance, extensive in-house training programs, a professional selling environment and advancement opportunities.
